Lynch Blasts Cicilline for Taking Money from Special Interests

Congressional candidate Bill Lynch is accusing Democratic primary opponent David Cicilline of violating his promise to separate money from politics.

“By accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from special interests, Mayor Cicilline will no doubt be beholden to their agendas and priorities in Washington,” Lynch said.

The Cicilline campaign announced this week it had raised $433,484.81 in the second quarter and had $900,943.14 cash on hand. Lynch, meanwhile, had collected $55,000 and has approximately $140,000 cash on hand.

“I’m extremely proud of the donations I have received so far and I am confident this race will not boil down to who has the biggest bank account,” Lynch said.  “I have consistently stated this is an election – not an auction.”
