NEW: Cianci's Lawyer Files Elections Complaint Over Elorza, York, and Others

Vincent "Buddy" Cianci
Lawyers for Buddy Cianci's mayoral campaign have filed a complaint with the Board of Elections over "specific violations and irregularities as perpetuated by Priorities PVD, a group of people organized with the intent to advocate against Independent Candidate for Mayor of Providence Vincent A. Cianci, Jr. and for the election of Candidate Jorge Elorza".

Kelly & Mancini PC, Attorneys at Law filed the complaint against Elorza, York and Priorities PVD which asserts that York and Priorities PVD have violated the Rhode Island Campaign Contributions and Expenditures Reporting Act (Act) by having formed a Political Action Committee (PAC) or some type of organization without filing a Notice of Formation with the RI Board of Elections or registering as a PAC with the Secretary of State and failing to file any campaign finance reports.

The complaint also claims that York and Priorities PVD have acted in conjunction with Elorza’s campaign in violation of the Act, and demands that the Board exercise its powers and order that Myrth York and Priorities PVD cease and desist from their actions.
