NEW: Doherty Targets Providence Finances in Latest Campaign Commercial
Republican Congressional candidate Brendan Doherty rips Congressman David Cicilline’s handling of Providence’s finances during his time as Mayor in a new commercial that began airing today.
The commercial focuses on Cicilline stating the city was in “excellent financial condition” in 2010 (he has since apologized) as well as the $110 million structural deficit Mayor Angel Taveras inherited. The campaign also criticizes Cicilline’s handling of the Providence Economic Development Partnership (PEDP).
