NEW: Rep. Costa Supports Bachmann Decision to Suspend Campaign

State Rep. Doreen Costa is praising Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann for suspended her campaign and urging others to do the same.

According to various media reports, Bachmann will make the official announcement today. Costa, a first-term Rhode Island lawmaker, endorsed Bachmann last year, but said she believes the Minnesota Congresswoman is doing the right thing. Costa said she isn't sure who she plans to support now, not noted that it won't be Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

It's the best thing she could do," Costa said. "She's doing the right thing and Jon Huntsman and Newt Gingrich should do the same thing and let the top three fight it out in New Hampshire."

Bachmann finished with just 5 percent of the vote in Tuesday's Iowa Caucus, which Mitt Romney won by just 8 votes of Rick Santorum.

"It's not about the candidate you like the best, it's about the candidate who has the best chance to beat President Obama," Costa said.
