In reflecting on my time at the RIDP, I’m proud of what we have been able to accomplish by working together. Our electoral successes in the 2018 cycle include sending every member of our congressional delegation back to Washington to continue standing up to President Trump and his disastrous agenda. Here in the Ocean State, we made history by re-electing Governor Raimondo and all of the general officers, as well as adding more Democrats to the ranks in the General Assembly. I am especially proud of the partnerships we have built with our city and town committees, which helped deliver decisive and resounding victories all across our state from Barrington and East Greenwich to Smithfield and Portsmouth.

I do not make this decision lightly. Instead, I do so knowing that the infrastructure that our party has built is stronger than ever. I am confident that Chairman McNamara's leadership will lead to more success at the ballot box in 2020 and beyond. While I may not be with you on a daily basis, I will most assuredly be fighting alongside you as we continue to work together towards a more perfect union where everyone has a real opportunity to succeed.

I am truly honored to have gotten the chance to work in the state I grew up in with some of the most outstanding public servants and committed party activists in the country. More than that, I am thankful for the trust you placed in me two years ago to lead this fantastic organization.

Now onto the next challenge...
