No Labels Political Coalition Unveils 2020 Unity Agenda

As a member of No Labels I would like to direct you to what may be one of the most important documents of the 2020 presidential campaign---- No Labels 2020 Unity Agenda.

Organized in 2010 No Labels is a national organization of Democrats, Republicans and independents trying to get our political leaders to “YES” on some of the nation’s most critical issues. Simply stated, the mission of No Labels is to oppose partisan dysfunction in our politics and advocate for real solutions to America’s challenges.

No Labels organizers included Senator Joseph Lieberman, Governor Jon Huntsman, U.S. Rep. Tom Davis, Bill Galston, a senior fellow at Brookings, U.S.Rep Tom Reed, Nancy Jacobson who currently serves as No Labels CEO, and others.

The founding group built No Labels on a three-legged strategy. The first leg was policy development. The second was support of bipartisan members of Congress, and the third citizen engagement.

Perhaps the greatest accomplishment of No Labels was promoting the creation of the House Problem Solvers Caucus. The Caucus has 48 members which are evenly divided between Republicans and Democrats. The Problem Solvers Caucus has proposed bipartisan legislation on issues ranging from fiscal responsibility to healthcare to immigration to gun safety.

A significant accomplishment of the Problem Solvers Caucus was the way it leveraged the election of Speaker Pelosi to reform the rules of the U.S. House of Representatives. These rule changes will give bipartisan policy solutions a fair and fighting chance in Congress.

However, No Labels most significant impact on good government may occur during the 2020 presidential election.

No Labels will lead an initiative to get the candidates behind a national unity agenda. No Labels 2020 Unity Agenda speaks to the vast majority of Americans who reject extremism on the left and right and want a president to put forth a plan to unite our divided country.

The 2020 Unity Agenda contains suggestions on some of the toughest problems the next President and Congress will face. These include health, energy and climate change, infrastructure, the rise of big tech, achieving the American dream, fixing the political process, immigration reform and fiscal responsibility--the magic money tree.
