Raimondo Raises More Over $570k for Quarter, Account Tops $3.3M

Governor Gina Raimondo
Governor Gina Raimondo continues to pile up cash for her re-election bid.

For the 4th quarter of 2017, Raimondo’s campaign topped $570,000 and now totals $3.3 million.  In contrast, GOP candidate Cranston Mayor Allan Fund raised $175,000 for the quarter.

The one X-factor for whoever is the GOP nominee is the Republican Governor Association's money.

The Republican Governors Association (RGA)  announced on Wednesday that they have raised $63.2 million in 2017, including $27.2 million in the last six months of the year.

“With a historic high number of Republican governors, GOP chief executives are transforming their states for the better, accomplishing meaningful reform, growing jobs and making government more efficient and accountable to taxpayers. This fundraising success is a direct result of the hard work by every Republican governor and it puts the RGA in strong position to defend our incumbents and add to our ranks this November,” said RGA Chairman Governor Bill Haslam.

Raimondo is a GOP target due to her low polling numbers.

The fundraising success allows the RGA to support incumbent Republican governors, target key Democrat-held governorships, and elect a new class of Republican governors in 36 gubernatorial elections scheduled to take place in less than 10 months.

Raimondo’s Donors

Raimondo’s 273-page campaign finance reports literally hundreds of out-of-state donors from leading financial institutions tied to Wall Street.

Venture Capitalist David Bechtel of Outpost Capital for $1,000, Jeffrey Bewkes from Time Warners for $1,000, and Marylin and Jeffrey Katzenberg of Dreamworks fame each for $1,000.
