Raimondo to Endorse Billionaire Bloomberg for President

We cannot risk another four years of President Trump's destructive policies, and I know that Mike is the right leader to take him on.”
Bloomberg is the 8th richest American who has a net worth in excess of $60 billion according to Forbes.

In November, Raimondo spoke with GoLocal LIVE about Bloomberg -- and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick -- entering the crowded Democratic presidential primary field vying for the nomination in 2020.
"The stakes are high — people understand how important it is we beat Donald Trump," said Raimondo. "I think there’s some nervousness and we want to make sure we have the right candidate to get the job done."
Bloomberg backed Raimondo in her gubernatorial efforts in Rhode Island in 2014 and 2018.
"I think there’s a lot of excitement in the Democratic Party. There are lot of people, including Deval Patrick, including former Mayor Bloomberg, who want to do everything they can to beat Donald Trump — and they are saying we’re going to jump in and leave everything on the field," said Raimondo.
"There’s a lot of people, myself included, who are excited to work hard for a nominee," Raimondo added. "I like our chances…Donald Trump’s a terrible president, he is beatable."
In September of 2010, GoLocal reported Bloomberg’s endorsement of then-independent candidate for Governor Lincoln Chafee.
“New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will endorse Lincoln Chafee for governor at an event Thursday, his campaign announced this afternoon. Bloomberg will make joint appearances with Chafee in Warwick and Providence between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The locations have yet to be announced,” GoLocal reported.
