At the statewide level, favorites held serve in the 2018 Republican and Democratic primaries, but at the local levels, there were interesting upsets and some shifts in power.

At the state level, Governor Gina Raimondo, GOP favorite Allan Fung and incumbent Lt. Governor Dan McKee all fought back tough challenges.

In Providence, women had a big night at the polls, and does Jorge Elorza's 57 percent win against two underfunded candidates -- Kobi Dennis 23 percent and Bob DeRobbio's 19 percent -- mark a weakness for November when he faces well-funded Dianne "Dee Dee" Witman?
