Allan Reyes Named Cuervo's Campaign Manager

Gonzalo Cuervo, a Democratic candidate for Mayor of Providence, has a new campaign manager. His name is Allan Reyes and he previously served as Digital Field Organizer for Zach Iscol for NYC.

"I am extremely thrilled to announce I have accepted the position of Campaign Manager for the Gonzalo for Providence campaign. I’m blessed for the opportunity to move back home to Rhode Island and fight to make Providence a city everyone can be proud of," said Reyes

Diossa Gets Another Endorsement

Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena endorsed James Diossa for General Treasurer.

Diossa’s campaign has previously announced the support of former General Treasurer Paul Tavares, Former Providence Mayor Angel Taveras, Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebian, North Providence Mayor Charles Lombardi, and East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva.

"I'm proud to endorse James Diossa for General Treasurer. In almost 16 years as Mayor, I have seen what it takes to move our state’s economy forward and I know that James Diossa is the right choice for our next General Treasurer. James brought Central Falls out of bankruptcy and helped the whole region and the whole state with his steady leadership. James has the expertise and experience to work with Rhode Island’s cities and towns to keep moving forward. Too many Rhode Islanders are feeling squeezed and James will fight every day to make sure that we have a secure pension system, our state’s finances are well managed, and everyone has a chance to succeed," said Polisena.

Dan McKee picks up DGA endorsement
Democratic Governors Association Endorses McKee

On Tuesday, DGA Chair Gov. Roy Cooper released the following statement as incumbent Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee officially kicked off his 2022 campaign.

“After taking office in the middle of a public health crisis, Gov. McKee took swift action to get people vaccinated and guide businesses, workers, and families toward economic recovery. His leadership has played a pivotal role in making Rhode Island one of the top states in the country for getting its residents vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as keeping schools open, getting people back to work, and creating new, good-paying jobs.

In running for reelection, Gov. McKee has laid out a bold agenda that builds on his progress in moving Rhode Island forward. Already, he’s signed legislation to raise the minimum wage, and he’s invested in small businesses, affordable housing, and child care — proving to Rhode Island families they can count on him to keep his promises and fight for them on the issues that matter most.

“The DGA is proud to support Gov. McKee in his reelection campaign and we look forward to working with him as he continues to deliver progress and opportunity for Rhode Island.”
