Riley: The Strategy of RI Politics

Lincoln Chafee
There is a strategy in Rhode Island Politics that I learned in Grade School in California and it is very effective. Simply ignore all critics, don’t respond. We all learned very early in life that if you ignore someone it makes them crazy. Town workers and officials in Rhode Island in my experience have done this regularly that’s why we have “APRA” laws. Soon the abusers figured out that APRA laws have no bite. Ignore, Ignore, Ignore. Want to know why some guy drives a tractor through town hall? It’s undoubtedly due to a public official stone walling or abusing his power.

Yes its hurtful to be ignored,. The goal is say “you don’t matter”. I get it. I don’t matter to Lincoln “let’s be inclusive” Chafee. “Inclusive” in Progressive talk means anything but inclusion. It means black balling, It means redistributing wealth and property. I have asked for an accounting of who received $1.9 million in HUD grants to produce RhodeMap RI. Shouldn't’t there be an accounting for who made decisions to “Fund” projects and where those dollars went? After all those Dollars are simply recycled Rhode Island taxpayer dollars? While I have always known that there is a very cozy link between policy wonks and politicians, but I was shocked to see Jonathan Gruber received $6.5 million for writing the Affordable Health Care Act. Who made that call with our tax dollars?

                                         Gruber was handsomely paid

Does this happen in Rhode Island?

In Rhode Island Governor Chafee applied for a grant from HUD worth about $2 million Dollars. Did he then allocate it to like minded friends to produce an “inclusive” economic development plan? Is there such thing as work that is done with out payment from this grant? Who exactly received money from HUD and Chafee and what was it for?

I expect the answers will not be forthcoming. Governor Chafee runs a very secretive Government laced with conflict, waste and fraud. When he can’t constitutionally appoint family friends and current administrators  to judgeships he lobbies the “ethics “ commission for an exemption. When the people of Coventry voted twice to shut down the Central Coventry Fire District, Lincoln Chafee intervened not accepting the vote of the people  of that district, instead he imposed  his views. Chafee can surprise us all by accounting for the last 3 years of work on RhodeMapRI, while ignoring promised forensic investigations.

Finally Lincoln “trust Chafee”can come clean about who received  $1.9 million in HUD Grant Funds. Do I expect to get an accounting? Nope, I expect this open government pretender to ignore me.
