Shekarchi Schedules First JCLS Hearing in More than a Decade
Speaker of the House Joe Shekarchi PHOTO: GoLocalSpeaker of the House Joe Shekarchi has scheduled the Joint Committee on Legislative Services to hold a public hearing this coming week.
It is the first hearing of the committee in more than a decade— House and Senate Democratic leadership repeatedly refused to hold public hearings.
The JCLS dictates the spending of about $50 million in taxpayer monies for the activities of the legislative branch.
