NEW: Warwick's Petri Announces Mayoral Run
Petri will challenge the current Mayor, Scott Avedisian.
“Warwick has always been a special place to live—a place to raise a family…a place to retire…a place to call home, but it’s all changing for the worse. Roads are crumbling, school buildings are deteriorating, social services are decreasing and businesses keep closing. More and more families are packing up and moving out of Warwick. The conversation at the dinner table should not include the question of ‘should we stay or should we leave?’” said Petri.

The Mayor can no longer play his shell game and simply dismiss the issue,” said Petri. “Every budget year that passes has the taxpayers experiencing the detrimental consequences for this lack of leadership.”
“The condition of our city and our schools speak for themselves. If Warwick continues on the Mayor’s reckless approach, the urban decay will only grow worse. My administration will set a new direction by listening to the concerns of Warwick citizens and identifying the issues that are most problematic to them. I will confront these issues directly and propose solutions so Warwick is prosperous for all residents," continued Petri.

Petri is a lifelong Rhode Islander and Rhode Island College graduate with a degree in Psychology. She has worked in the pharmacy service arena for twenty-seven years and has also helped operate a family owned business.
