Thousands turned out to Worcester’s DCU Center on Wednesday to welcome Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Many of Trump's supporters who braved the long lines and low temperatures were decked out in support of their favorite candidate.

Jason Carelton and Mike Reed turned out to the event even though they won’t be able to cast a vote for Trump in the upcoming election.

“We’re really excited to see Mr. Trump,” Carelton told GoLocal. “We’ve never seen him before and we’ve been big fans since we were kids.”

Paul Murphy attended the event with his daughter Shannon and son Owen. Murphy said it was the first time any of the three had seen Trump live and in person.

“This is our first time and we’re really excited,” Murphy said. “I’m excited to hear him talk about immigration and the recent refugee situation, especially given the events that happened in Paris.”

Jeremy Musa came to the event decked out in his finest Donald Trump hat. Musa also said he was in favor of Trump’s policies on immigration.

“I’m a huge Donald Trump fan,” Musa told GoLocal. “I follow along with him wherever he is, but this is the first time I’ve had the chance to see him with my own two eyes. I’ve been waiting for him to come to Worcester and finally I saw that he was and I had to come. I’m most excited to hear him speak on immigration and the refugee crisis.”
