Which Candidate Is Most Rhode Island? Lieutenant Governor

In our effort to determine which candidate for Lt. Governor is most Rhode Island, reseachers were stymied by three of the six candidates - so much for transparency about probing questions like, "How many years have you worked outside of RI?"  So, for the three candidates who were proud of their Rhode Island legacy, we salute sitting Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts - who when you review the scoring chart is very Rhode Island.

And, we appreciate the responsiveness of Cool Moose candidate (yes, we know it is not a real party) Bob Healey who, of course, is Rhode Island enough to know that he wants to win the office in order to abolish the office.

Lastly, we appreciate Kara Russo, a Republican candidate, who was responsive to our survey, but just isn't very Rhode Island.

Just to be clear, this evaluation is purely fact-based. Candidates got points for each year they went to school or worked in the state, and correspondingly, lost points for heading off to some foriegn land like going to college at some distant place, such as University of Connecticut or UMass.

Also for the credibility of assessing we engaged professor and speech expert Pam Howell (of course, she's a lifelong Rhode Islander). She reviewed each candidate through video-taped speeches or commercials, then awarded each a grade 1 to 5, with 5 being the most Rhode Island.

Editors Note: With just a few weeks before the primaries and over two months to the General Election, GoLocal thought it might be valuable to look at the candidates in a Rhode Island-way. Let's hope the campaigns don't take this too seriously.
