#14 Providence Holds on for 73-65 Win Over Rider

Ben Bentil Leads Providence with 19 points and 12 rebounds
The #14 Providence College Friars men's basketball team (11-1) defeated the (2-9) Rider Broncos 73-65 on Saturday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The win was the Friars 5th straight and the game marked PC's final home game before conference play.

Providence led 33-29 at the half but in the second, Rider cut it to just one point, 33-32, with 19 minutes to play.

From there, Providence went on an 8-0 run helped by two Jalen Lindsey three-pointers to go up 41-32 with just over 17 minutes to play. 

PC would build up their lead to as much as 15, 63-48 with 8:21 to play but Rider would battle back again.

The Broncos would get to within five points, 69-64, with two minutes to play in the game but were not able to get closer.  

The Leaders 

The Friars were led by Ben Bentil who netted 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double. Ben Bentil's 19 points came on 7 of 19 shooting from the field. 

Jalen Lindsey had 13 points and 13 rebounds while Rodney Bullock netted 16 points and grabbed 11 boards. 

Providence had three players in double-figures for the first time since March of 2015. 

Health Update 

Kris Dunn missed his second straight game battling a stomach virus, but was on the bench. 

Ryan Fazekas is home battling mono. No time table is set for his return. 

Next up 

Providence hits the road to take on the UMass Minutemen on Monday, December 21 in their final game before conference play. The game will be only PC's second true road game of the season.
