#4 RIC Women’s Basketball Sweeps Florida Tournament - Now 12-0

The Rhode Island College women’s basketball team continued its undefeated season as fifth-year forward Izabelle Booth netted a game-high 15 points as Rhode Island College defeated Baldwin Wallace, 65-52, to close out a two-game set at the Cruzin Classic in Miami Gardens, Florida on Thursday afternoon.  

Rhode Island College is now 12-0, and Baldwin Wallace falls 8-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• A three-pointer by junior guard Jayda Bing capped a 7-0 run to close the first quarter and give RIC a 16-8 lead. 

 

 • The Anchorwomen buried Baldwin Wallace in the second quarter, holding the Yellow Jackets to just two points over the first nine minutes, and held a decisive, 42-13, lead at halftime. 

 

• A graduate guard Sophia Guerrier jumper two minutes into the third quarter equaled RIC’s game-high 29-point, 44-15, advantage. 

 

• RIC led by over 20 points for the majority of the fourth frame before taking out the starting lineup. 

 

• Junior forward Angelina Nardolillo  posted 11 points. Guerrier finished seven points, a game-high 10 rebounds and five steals. 

 

• Fifth-year guard Jeniyah Jones  posted four points, eight boards and four assists. 

 

NEXT 

Rhode Island College will resume Little East action at home vs. UMass Dartmouth on Thursday, Jan. 4 (5:30 p.m.).
