Alex Owens Recruited by Providence College's Friars

Alex Owens has chosen to play basketball for Providence College in the fall.

Owens, who plays power forward, is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School in Florida.

Although Owens had previously committed to UCF, he decided to open up his recruitment last December. UCF is his hometown school.

Owens also previously considered Missouri.

Owens attended the PC Elite Camp this past Saturday. Javon Taylor, who also attended the camp, has decided on PC as well.

Adam Finkelstein tweeted, "A young & talented Providence frontline got even better today with Alex Owens."

Alex Kline weighed in with this tweet, "Alex Owens will help the continued improvement of Providence’s frontline. The former UCF commit is a strong body that grabs rebounds."

Owens, who is 6’8 and 240 pounds, will join Paschal Chukwu, Ben Bentil, and Jalen Lindsey on the court.
