Boys Hoops Friday Night Spotlight: Hendricken vs. NK

A visit from Hendricken awaits on Friday night.
These Hawks (7-6) are an offensively challenged group that relies on stifling defense to make life difficult for opposing teams. Coach Jamal Gomes’ squad averages 50 points per game, but it limits opponents to 47.1 per contest.

North Kingstown (12-2) was on the receiving end of St. Raphael star Charles Correa’s 40-point effort last Friday, a 68-66 loss for the Skippers that marked their first setback of the season. Coach Aaron Thomas’ team, which still leads the Rhode Island Interscholastic League power points standings, rebounded with a 74-48 victory over Smithfield on Tuesday.
But the Skippers ran into some bad luck on Thursday, when Grant Gillis and Owen Heath were ill and sat out North Kingstown’s 53-46 loss to La Salle.
