Patriots Cruise Past Saints

Leading 6-3 the first quarter following a touchdown pass from Brady to Rex Burkhead, Brady hit Rob Gronkowski on a 53-yard touchdown pass down the sideline to put the Patriots up 13-3 following an extra point by kicker Stephen Gostkowski.

The touchdown catch was Gronkowski's 69th of his career. Gronkowski would later leave the game with a groin injury.

The Patriots would add to their lead on their very next possession when Brady found Chris Hogan for a 13-yard touchdown pass to put New England up 20-3 after Gostkowski converted an extra point.

New Orleans would fight back to start the second quarter, scoring ten straight points to cut the Patriots lead to 20-13 following a 35-yard field goal by New Orleans kicker Will Lutz with 8:18 to play.

However, the Patriots would pull away before the half.

With 4:47 left to play in the half, running back Mike Gillislee ran two yards for a touchdown to put the Patriots up 27-13 following a Gostkowski extra point.

The touchdown was Gillislee’s fourth of the season.

Gostkowski would convert a field goal just before the half to put the Patriots up 30-13 at the break.

In the second half, Gostkowski added two field goals as the Patriots would cruise to the win.

The Saints would score a late touchdown, but would not threaten the Patriots lead.
