Brown Defeats Bethune-Cookman 81-73

Tavon Blackmon led Brown with 20 points
The Brown University Bears (4-7) defeated the (4-9) Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 81-73 on Monday Night at the Pizzitola Center. The win snaps Brown's two game losing streak.

"We are happy to win, winning is hard, it's never easy. Those guys are talented, they have a lot of guys that can hurt you offensively. I saw them last week in a game against Central Florida hold an 18 point lead, go down 17 in the second half and then come back and make it an overtime game," said head coach Mike Martin after the game.

Brown led 26-29 at the half but took control of the game early in the second using a 12-1 run, sparked by three-pointers from Tavon Blackmon and JR Hobbie to go up 48-30 prior to the under 16 time out.

Bethune-Cookman would not get closer than five points the rest of the way, and that came with 20 seconds left.
