Brown Falls to Marist in 84-83 Double OT Heartbreaker
Cedric Kuakumensah leads BrownThe Brown Bears men's basketball team (3-7) fell 84-83 in double over time to the (4-6) Marist Red Foxes on Tuesday at Mohegan Sun Arena and the Hall of Fame Shootout. After winning two straight games, the Bears have now lost two straight games.

Brown led 83-79 with 53 seconds left in the second over time after a Jason Massey lay up.
However, Marist's Khallid Hart knocked down a three-pointer to cut the Bears lead to just one, 83-82, with 46 seconds left.
On Brown's next possession, Steven Spieth would turn the ball over and that would lead to Cedric Kuakumensah fouling Hart and sending him to the free throw line.
Hart knocked down both free throws to put Marist up 84-83 and after a failed desperation attempt by Brown, would go on to win the game by that margin.
The Leaders
Brown was led by Cedric Kuakumensah who netted 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double. Kuakumensah was named most outstanding player of the tournament.
Steven Spieth followed up with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for Brown.
Next up
Brown returns to action on Monday, December 28 when they host Bethune-Cookman at the Pizzitola Center. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.

Cedric Kuakumensah
Cedric Kuakumensah led Brown with 21 points on 7 of 13 shooting from the field while also grabbing 12 rebounds in the game.
Of his 21 points, 10 of them came in the second half.
Kuakumensah was named most outstanding player of the tournament.
Bench Points
Marist went to their bench and managed to get 13 bench points while the Bears went to their bench and only managed to get three points, all from Travis Fuller.
All Brown starters reached double-figures in the game, however, lack of bench production adds pressure to the starting five.

One area that hurt Brown in this game was second chance points.
The Bears gave up 10 offensive rebounds that resulted in 13 second chance points for Marist.
Meanwhile, Brown only got 6 second chance points on 6 offensive rebounds.
