However, Marist's Khallid Hart knocked down a three-pointer to cut the Bears lead to just one, 83-82, with 46 seconds left.

On Brown's next possession, Steven Spieth would turn the ball over and that would lead to Cedric Kuakumensah fouling Hart and sending him to the free throw line.

Hart knocked down both free throws to put Marist up 84-83 and after a failed desperation attempt by Brown, would go on to win the game by that margin.

The Leaders

Brown was led by Cedric Kuakumensah who netted 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double. Kuakumensah was named most outstanding player of the tournament.

Steven Spieth followed up with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for Brown.

Next up

Brown returns to action on Monday, December 28 when they host Bethune-Cookman at the Pizzitola Center. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
