Brown Football Falls to Penn 13-7

Brown falls to Penn 13-7
The Brown Bears football team fell 13-7 to Penn on Saturday afternoon in the middle of a Nor’easter.

"We fought for the entire game and were still fighting in the last minute. I’m not worried about the scoreboard, I care about our team. Some of our players are getting their first varsity experience. When we learn how to make a few more plays we'll win,” said Brown head coach Phil Estes after the game.

Brown is now 1-6 on the season and 0-4 in the Ivy League.

Penn got on the board in the first quarter when kicker Jack Soslow nailed a 21-yard field goal to give the Quakers a 3-0 lead.

The score would remain that way until the second quarter when Penn quarterback Nick Robinson connected with Steve Farrell on a 10-yard touchdown pass to put Penn up 10-0 after the extra point.

Penn would add another field goal in the third quarter to go up 13-0.

Brown got on the scoreboard with 27 seconds left in the game when quarterback Michael McGovern connected with Jakob Prall in the corner of the end zone for a 20-yard touchdown.

The touchdown pulled the Bears within 13-7, however, Penn recovered the onside kick and went on to win.
