Last year, Saint Francis jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and went on o win 27-14.
Bryant’s 4th Quarter Struggles
A theme over the last two games has been Bryant’s struggles in the fourth quarter.
In Bryant’s last game against Brown, the Bulldogs held a 24-21 lead in the final frame before the Bears rallied to win 35-30.
In the previous game against Fordham, the Bulldogs gave up 23 fourth-quarter points en route to a 29-14 loss.
“We're putting ourselves in position to win football games, we just have to figure out how to finish football games. It's hard to look past all the negative that comes with 0-4, but you have to find the positives and the gains that we've made over the last four weeks,” said Bryant head coach Chris Merritt after the game following the loss to Brown.
The Bulldogs will need to solve their fourth-quarter woes in order to get off to a good start in conference play.
Bryant Offense
The Bulldogs offense is averaging just 14 points per game so far this season.
Sophomore quarterback Kory Curtis took over the reins last week against Brown and completed 35 of 55 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns.
Freshman receiver Anthony Frederick will look to build off last week when he racked up 119 receiving yards.
He became the first true freshmen in program history with a 100-yard game.
The Bulldogs offense will also look to graduate transfer Hunter Hill, who had eight catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns last week.
Bryant Defense
On the defensive side of the ball, the Bulldogs are giving up an average of 36 points per game to go along with 169 passing yards and 290 rushing yards.
The Bryant defense has a combined seven sacks on the season led by Tomas Wright who has 2.5.
The Bulldogs also look to Jesse Nemerowicz, who averages 8.5 sacks per game for a total of 34 tackles on the season.
