Bryce Cotton: 14 Who Made a Difference in RI in 2014

Bryce Cotton
The second-team All-American pick by NBC Sports was one of the main reasons Providence College snagged last year's Big East men's basketball title -- its first since 1994. After dubbing Rhode Island basketball coaches as part of the "13 Who Made a Difference in 2013', Cotton stood out last season for his individual accolades that led the Friars on its successful run.

Cotton, who was second in scoring in the Big East (21.7 ppg, 23.4 ppg in conference play) nabbed 1st team all-Big East honors for the second straight season, making him the second Friar after Ryan Gomes to earn two All Big-East first team honors.

And Cotton was indefatigable, having led the nation in minutes played, averaging 40.1 minutes -- and 41.9 minutes in conference play. Cotton went undrafted in the NBA in June, but was signed by the San Antonio Spurs in July, before being released in October to the Spurs' D-league team.  While Cotton's Friartown days are now in his past, his superb senior season won't soon be forgotten by PC students, alums, and fans.
