College Lax: Bryant’s Big Win, Brown Smoked By Cornell - Fall to 1-9, PC Upsets Villanova

It was a busy Saturday for the local Division I lacrosse programs.

Brown men’s lacrosse lost to Cornell 14-8 and is now 1-9 on the season.

The Bears could be headed for their worst record in program history. Brown was 2-11 in 2006, Scott Nelson’s final season as coach.

With the loss to Big Red, the Bears are now 0-3 in the Ivy League.

 

Big Win for PC on the Road

The news was far better for the Providence College Friars.

Providence upset Villanova 15-12 in Philadelphia. The Friars improve to 5-6 and 1-1 in the conference.

Ryan Bell paced the Friars' offense with a career-high seven assists. Bell became Providence College's all-time career assists leader during the game, with 107 career assists. He passed Matt Pymm' 99 who finished his career with 102.

 

Bryant and Albany

The Bryant Bulldogs scored with just 5 seconds left to beat the University of Albany on the road Saturday night.

Bulldogs won 13-12 on the last-second goal by Aidan Goltz.

They improved to 7-3 and 3-1 in the conference.
