While the latest ESPN prediction has Providence as a #10 seed playing Oklahoma St. in Indianapolis, the seeding and region could be improved with a win or two in the Big East tournament. And, if this team keeps a hot hand going and can run the table and win the Big East Championship then a #4 or #5 seed could be in the cards.

You Don't Want to Be...
The Friars have been on a roll and have gone from now where to a strong candidate for an at-large big for the NCAA tournament.
A loss to Creighton hurts and if a number of #1 conference seeds go down in their respective tournaments then those at-large gimmes get more complicated on selection Sunday night.
Creighton has a great RPI
The Creighton Blue Jays have an RPI on 29 -- significantly higher than PC's RPI of 52.
And, the win gets Providence to 7-7 against the top 50.
PC on the verge of its best four years
Providence College has had some great eras. Under Joe Mullaney, the Friars were a dominant team from 1959 to 1967 going to nine consecutive NIT or NCAA tournaments at a time when the tournaments were both important.
Dave Gavitt went to three straight NCAA tournaments (and NIT and NCAA combined, but by then the NCAA was the top tournament).
But, a PC trip to the Big Dance would give PC four consecutive trips -- a first in the school's rich hoop history. Coach Ed Cooley joins Mullaney and Gavitt as the programs' most elite coaches.
The Details
PC and Creighton are scheduled to play at 9:30 pm on Thursday night. A time that is out of the norm as to when young men usually play. Anything can happen in New York City late night.
Friars Stole One Game
PC's win in late February in Omaha 68-66 over the Blue Jays was won of the signature wins this season, but Friar fans need to remember that at the Dunk in early January the Friars got beat up 64-78.
Creighton is dangerous and well coached.
