Former PC Star Bryce Cotton Signs 10 Day Contract With Jazz

Former Providence College Friar star Bryce Cotton has signed a ten day contract with the Utah Jazz, the team announced on Tuesday.

Cotton has appeared in 34 games in the NBA D-League for the Austin Spurs and started in all of them. This season, Cotton has averaged 22 points, five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 40 minutes of play per game. Cotton's 40 minutes per game leads the D-League.

Bryce Cotton has reached double figures in 31 of the 34 games that he has appeared in and has scored at least 40 points on two seperate occasions, including 43 points against Reno on February 19.

Cotton played four seasons at Providence College, leading the Friars to the 2014 Big East Championship where he was named the tournament's most outstanding player.

Cotton took the Friars into the NCAA tournament and poured in 36 points in the first round against North Carolina, however, Providence fell just short, falling 79-77 to the Tar Heels. 

Pro career

Bryce Cotton was not drafted but signed on with the San Antonio Spurs  during training camp and was on the summer league roster. However, Cotton averaged only four points and one assist in the four games that he played in. 

The Spurs put Cotton on waivers on October 23.  

The Utah Jazz are back in action on Wednesday, February 25 when they host the Los Angeles Lakers.
