MLS Cup Final Set - Revs Set To Take On LA Galaxy

The MLS Cup final is set. The New England Revolution will travel to Los Angeles to take on Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and the LA Galaxy in the 2014 MLS Cup Final. The Galaxy advanced on Sunday night behind a 2-2 aggregate tie with Juninho scoring the important away goal to give the Galaxy the tie breaker.

The final match of the 2014 MLS season will take place at StubHub Center in California next Sunday, December 7, at 3 PM Eastern. This is not the first time these teams will meet in a MLS Cup final — it will, in fact be the 3rd time. The Galaxy have topped the Revolution both previous times 1-0 in overtime in both 2002 and 2005.

The matchup will feature a battle of two MLS MVP candidates, Robbie Keane and Lee Nguyen, and two U.S. Men’s National Team stars, Landon Donovan and Jermaine Jones, and two areas that are no stranger to championships, Los Angeles and New England.

These teams met once in 2014, with LA winning 5-1 over the Revolution on July 16 at StubHub Center. The loss came in the middle of the Revs long, mid-season losing streak and saw two goals each from Keane and Gyasi Zardes. Lee Nguyen scored the lone Revolution goal in that match.

Sunday will determine the 2014 champion. Can the Galaxy grab their 5th MLS Cup of will the Revolution bring their 1st cup home to Foxboro?
