Monday Morning Sports Roundup: Pats’ Streak Over, PC’s Chaos, URI's Inconsistency

PC's Ed Cooley
Some key takeaways from this weekend in sports:

- The Patriots’ 11 season streak of winning the AFC East is over. The Bills now reign.

- Cam Newton has the 31st best QB rating in the NFL.

- Tom Brady is 14th.

Celtics - Better or Worse?

- Celtics play the opening pre-season game on Tuesday at 7:30 PM against our good friend Kyrie Irving.

- Irving refused to answer reporters' questions last week and when fined by the NBA, “I do not talk to pawns.”

- The Celtic's first regular-season game is December 23 v. the Bucks.

- Is this team better than last year?

URI's Fatts Russell
The Unofficial PC v. URI Rivalry Game, No Bowls, MLB, and More

- The Friars beat Davidson by one-point earlier this season (after leading by 19). And URI plays Davidson Friday. If the Rams can beat the Wildcats by more than one, then URI is the state Champ. Seems fair.

- BC is one of a growing number of college football teams opting out of playing in a bowl due to the pandemic.

- The Cleveland MLB team will drop “Indians” from its official name according to the New York Times. No word on the new name.

- Fatt's Russell has been inconsistent all year, every game and every half. Thus, the Rams too.

- URI lost 2, then won three, and now have lost two. The Rams could easily be 7-0.

- URI's four losses - two to top 25 teams - are by a combined 25 points.

- PC Friars have had multiple games cancelled or postponed -- the latest were against UConn and Xavier.
