Mount to Play at Fenway - Raise Funds for Cathedral in Springfield, MA

Support Cathedral in Springfield, MA
Cathedral High School sustained serious damage in the June 1 tornado. Part of the school's roof was ripped off, windows were blown out, and a wall collapsed. This fall, classes were relocated to the vacant Memorial Elementary School in Wilbraham. Much to the disappointment of Cathedral’s senior class, the 2012 graduation ceremony will not take place at its traditional location on Surrey Road, where repairs may take up to two years. The game at Fenway is an opportunity for the team to help people similarly affected by the storm and – win or lose – make a memory it won’t soon forget.

New England Powerhouse
The Mt. St. Charles boys’ team is a New England hockey powerhouse, considered one of the best in the entire country. They have won Rhode Island’s Division 1 Championship 42 times since 1932, including a 26-year streak from 1978-2003. They are four-time defending champions since 2008. To-date, 20 alumni have been drafted for the NHL.
The Mounties finished the 2010-11 season with a 27-1-2 record. Though four leaders in goals and assists graduated last spring, five of the top ten will return this season.

The game is scheduled to take place at 7:30 pm, Monday, January 2 at Fenway Park. Tickets will cost $10.
