NEW: Brown Athletics Director Retiring

Sources have learned that Michael "Goldie" Goldberger, the Director of Athletics at Brown University, will be retiring by the end of the current fiscal year. Golderbeg assumed the role of Athletics Director in 2005, after spending 10 years as the director of admissions at the university. Goldberger first came to Brown in 1973 as an assistant coach for football and baseball.

In his time at Brown, Goldberger presided over two Ivy League football titles and three Women's Crew Championships.

"Brown athletics will be losing a great champion. He truly cared about every student athlete and every coach and athletic administrator that worked with him. He will be sincerely missed." said Scott Cordischi, the radio voice of Brown football and men's basketball, "He's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet."
