Develin went undrafted in 2010, playing one season in the Arena Football League and one season in the United Football League before joining the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad where he stayed until 2012 when he was signed by the Patriots.

Develin at Brown University

Develin played four seasons at Brown University from 2006-2009, but not on the offensive end of the ball. Develin was a defensive end and made the All-Ivy League defensive team.

"I had a great time in my four years at Brown, I'm a proud alumni and, I try to stop down there and see, you know, my coaching staff is still down there, see Coach Estes, Coach McGrath, Coach  Sheehan and Coach Kelleher, all those guys down there. It's a great group of guys, and we are all like a big family there so it's great," Develin told GoLocalProv in 2015
