Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has been fired by ESPN after an anti-transgender post on Facebook.

In a statement, ESPN said "ESPN is an inclusive company. Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated."

After sharing the meme on Tuesday, Schilling then defended it once the controversy ensued by saying "This latest brew ha ha is beyond hilarious. I didn't post that ugly looking picture. I made a comment about the basic functionality of men's and women's restrooms, period.
