Retirement?
After the game, Brady's retirement wasn't on his mind after the 20-13 loss.
"I would say it's pretty unlikely. ... Hopefully unlikely," Brady said.
Brady is set to be a free agent. His contract doesn't allow the Patriots to use the franchise tag on the QB.
He didn't want to get into his future moments after his team just suffered its first home playoff loss since 2012.
"Who knows what the future holds? We'll leave it at that," he said.
Brady's Final Drive
Trailing 14-13 in the fourth quarter, the Patriots offense took over possessional their own 11-yard line with 4:44 to go in the game.
However, the offense would not be able to get anything going.
After connecting with James White on first down, the Patriots drive stalled on their own 37-yard line and punted.
A big play in the drive came on a second and four from the Patriots 37-yard-line.
On the play, Brady threw to the left to a wide-open Julian Edelman, but Edelman dropped the ball.
On third down, Brady’s pass to Phillip Dorsett fell incomplete.
New England would have one more possession in the final 30 seconds, but Brady would throw a pick-six to former Patriot Logan Ryan to make the final score 20-13.
Patriots Defense Can't Stop Henry
A big part of the game was that the Patriots defense could not stop the run.
Titans running back Derek Henry rushed for 182 yards and one touchdown in the game.
He averaged 5.4 yards per carry.
Titans Take the Lead
After leading 3-0 early in the half, the Patriots trailed 7-3 when Tannehill connected with Anthony Firkser on a 12-yard touchdown pass with 5:39 left in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Patriots would retake the lead when Brady would hand the ball to Julien Edelman on an end-around to go up 10-7 in the opening minute of the second quarter.
On the Patriots next offensive possession, New England had first and one from the Tennessee one-yard line.
However, the struggles of the Patriots red zone offense came through again.
After running the ball on three straight downs, the Patriots would kick a field goal to push the lead to 13-7 with just over two minutes left in the half.
On the Titans ensuing possession, Henry ran for 29 yards on first down to set Tennessee up in good position.
Six plays later, Henry was in the end zone on a one-yard run to give the Titans a 14-13 lead after an extra point by kicker Greg Joseph.
In the final 35 seconds of the half, the Patriots would attempt to move the ball up the field, but the drive would stall at their own 48-yard line.
New England would go into the half trailing 14-13.
There would be no scoring by either team in the second half.
