NEW: Tom Brady Addresses Wells Report

Tom Brady
Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, spoke at Salem State on Thursday night as part of the school's speaker series and addressed the Wells Report on Deflategate for the first time since it became public on Wednesday, May 6.

The Wells Report

"I don't really have any reaction to it. Our owner commented on it yesterday. It's only been 30 hours, so I haven't had much time to digest it fully, but when I do, I'll let you know. I'll be sure to let you know how I feel about it, and everyone else," Brady told Jim Gray, who was conducting the interview.

The 243 page Wells Report claimed "It is more probable than not that Tom Brady (the quarterback for the Patriots) was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities."

Response Coming

When asked when he plans to respond, Brady answered "Hopefully soon. There is still a process that is going forth right now, and I'm involved in that process. Whenever it happens, it happens, and I'll certainly want to be very comfortable in how I feel about the statements that I make," Brady said in front of a packed house at Salem State.

Tom Brady's dad, Tom Brady Sr. and Brady's agent, Don Yee, have already responded to the Wells Report through various media outlets claiming that the report is not true.

Tom Brady Sr. told USA Today that "this was framegate right from the beginning" while Don Yee said "The Wells Report, with all due respect, is a significant and terrible disappointment," in a prepared statement.

Handling the Criticism

Since the Wells Report was released, essentially calling him a liar, Brady has taken vicious hits to his image and legacy from former players, coaches and various media outlets throughout the country.

However, Brady says the people around him are helping him get through it.

"I'm very fortunate to have so many people that love me and support me. Life is so much about the ups and downs, and certainly I accept my role as a public figure, and I think a lot it - -you take the good with the bad," Brady said.

Friendly Crowd

The ceremony at Salem State started about a bit late due to the big crowd on hand but when Brady was introduced, he was greeted with chants of "BRADY, BRADY" and "MVP, MVP."

The event was sold out.
