Newport Gulls Ranked 11th in Country for Attendance During 2017 Season

The Newport Gulls are ranked among the top organizations in the country for ballpark attendance.

According to Ballpark Digest, the Gulls have the 11th highest attendance out of every summer collegiate baseball team in the country.

The Gulls brought in an average of 2,111 fans per game, up from the 2,087 fans per game they brought in during the 2016 season.

Newport Gulls Attendance in 2017

In 19 openings during the 2017 summer season, the Gulls hosted a total of 40,113 fans at Cardines Field. Newport had to cancel four games due to weather conditions, only making up one of them.

The Gulls averaged 24 more fans per game in 2017, resulting in a jump from 12th to 11th in the rankings.

This season, the Gulls hosted their first ever Christmas in July on July 3 where they saw 2,876 fans.

Mark Weed Memorial Scholarship Night on July 21 drew 2,879 fans and NAVSTA Newport Homes/Host Family Appreciation Night set the season record with 3,127 fans.
