“Wish we could have scored more points, but the defense really held their own. We battled, couldn’t get enough done to ultimately get the ball in the end zone, but glad we won,” said Brady in his post game press conference.

The Patriots are now 3-2 on the season, while Tampa drops to 2-2.

Patriots Grind Out Win

Trailing 7-3 in the second quarter, Brady hit Chris Hogan for a five-yard touchdown pass to give New England a 10-7 lead following the extra point by Stephen Gostkowski. The touchdown catch was Hogan's fifth of the season.

The Patriots would extend the lead to 16-7 after a Gostkowski 23 yard field goal with 40 seconds left in the first half.

The Bucs had opportunities to cut into the Patriots lead in the form of field goals, however kicker NIck Folk missed three field goals costing Tampa nine points.

"I took points off the board, we should have won the game 20-19. This one is on me," Folk said after the game.

Tampa cut the Patriots lead to just two points when Jameis Winston found Cameron Brate to make it 16-14 with 2:09 left to play in the game.

On the Patriots ensuing possession, the Patriots ran three plays before Gostkowski kicked a 48-yard field goal to extend the Patriots lead to 19-14.

The Buccaneers had one final possession, but a Winston pass into the end zone to win the game fell incomplete.

"Certainly there are things in all three phases of the game that we can do better and need to do better, but it was good to come down here and get a win," said Patriots head coach Bill Belichick in his post game press conference.

Brady completed 30 of 40 passes for 303 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also had a fumble in the game.

He is now 5-0 all-time against the Buccaneers.
