The Jets drop to 3-3 overall.

The win also gives Patriots quarterback Tom Brady the most regular season wins all-time by an NFL quarterback, passing Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.

Patriots Hold Off Jets

With the game tied at 14 to start the second half, Brady connected with tight end Rob Gronkowski on a 33-yard touchdown pass to put the Patriots up 21-14 following an extra point from Stephen Gostkowski.

The Patriots added to their lead to start the fourth quarter when an 11 play, 63-yard drive was capped off by a Gostkowski 28-yard field goal to put the Patriots up 24-14.

The Jets appeared to have cut the Patriots lead to three on a touchdown by Austin Seferian-Jenkins, however it was called back upon review. It was ruled that Seferian-Jenkins didn’t have control of the ball as he hit the ground.

it was ruled a fumble through the back of the end zone and so a touchback was called, giving the Patriots the ball back.

The Jets would cut the Patriots lead to seven, 24-17, on their next offensive possession when kicker Chandler Catanzaro nailed a 28-yard field goal with 3:40 to play.

The Jets had one final possession, however, the Patriots defense would hold on.

Patriots Slow Start

The Patriots got off to a slow start in the game.

On New York’s opening possession, the Jets picked up a 3rd and 10 and a 3rd and 8 all leading up to one-yard touchdown pass from Jets quarterback Josh McCown to Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

Following a fumble by Patriots running back Mike Gillislee, McCown found Jeremy Kerley seven plays later on a 31-yard touchdown pass to give the Jets a 14-0 lead following an extra point by Catanzaro.

Then the Patriots offense took over.

Dion Lewis got the Patriots on the board with a one-yard touchdown run with 5:19 left in the first half to cut New England’s deficit to 14-7 following an extra point from Gostkowski.

Following an interception by Malcolm Butler, Brady hit Gronkowski on a two-yard touchdown pass six plays later to tie the game at 14 with nine seconds left in the half following a Gostkowski extra point.
