The Providence College men’s basketball team -- coming off a difficult loss to second-place Villanova on Tuesday, playing without star guard Al Durham and trailing by as many as 19 points -- rallied back and beat Butler on Sunday afternoon on the road at Hinkle Field House in overtime on Sunday.

Final score? 71-70.

The Friars are now 22-3 overall and 12-2 in the Big East.

If the Friars did not have enough issues to overcome, they could simply not hit free throws.

The Friars shot just 50% from the free-throw line for the game and only 41% in the second half,

The Friars were led by Nate Watson’s 22 points and three rebounds. Jared Bynum scored 18 points, and Noah Horchler -- who recently cut his hair from European soccer-star style man-bun to 1990s boy-band cut -- added 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Friars trailed by 13 at the half and the game was tied 64 at the end of regulation

PC’s shooting woes were more than just free throws — the Friars shot just 41.7 overall from the field.

The saving grace for PC was that they had just 6 turnovers.
