The trouble started in the first few minutes when Denver's Connor Caponi scored unassisted just 2:25 into the game. It was their first shot on goal.

The game was all but decided when the Friars finally got their first goal in the third period from Austen May from Logan Will.

That single Friar goal cut the lead to 4-1.

Ultimately, the Friars’ inability to score this season was their Achilles heel, and it proved to be too much of a weakness against a high-power offense like the Pioneers.

GOALIES
Philip Svedebäck (PC) – 16 saves, 4 goals against
Matt Davis (DU) – 30 saves, 1 goal against

-The Friars pulled Philip Svedebäck for an extra attacker during the extended power play, but the Pioneers sealed the win with an empty-net goal from King.
