PC Men's Basketball Picked to Finish 5th in Big East

The Providence Friars men's basketball team has been picked to finish 5th in the Big East Conference this year on Wednesday at Big East Media day at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Villanova has been picked to finish first with 81 points while Georgetown, St. Johns and Xavier have been predicted to finish in spots two through four respectively. Providence finished in a tie for third last season and went on to win the Big East Championship and advance to the NCAA Tournament before losing to North Carolina.

Friars Senior forward LaDontae Henton was selected to the All- Big East second team by the coaches as no Friar player made the first team. With the loss of Bryce Cotton and Kadeem Batts to graduation and now the loss of Bullock for the season, the Friars will need big things out of Henton and others this year if they want to successfully defend their Championship.

PC tips off their season on November on November 15th against University of Albany at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
