The Providence College men’s basketball team lost to the University of Kentucky 61-53 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The Friars finished the season 22-12 — and lost five of their last six games.

Ed Croswell led the Friars with 16 points.

But Kentucky led in nearly every offensive category. Kentucky big man Oscar Tshiebwe had a game-high 25 rebounds.

Bryce Hopkins, playing against his former Wildcats, had another down game. He finished with just 2 of 9 for just. 7 points

With the loss, the rumors will start swirling. Will Georgetown University make a serious run at PC head coach Ed Cooley?
