On Sunday, guard Corey Floyd Jr. announced he will follow in his father’s footsteps for college basketball.

Hopkins and Floyd are the fourth and fifth transfers added respectively, this cycle by head coach Ed Cooley.
As GoLocal previously reported, the Friars added ex-Louisville guard Noah Locke, South Carolina transfer Devin Carter, and La Salle transfer Clifton Moore.
According to 24/7 Sports, “As a freshman this season, Hopkins appeared in 28 games, averaging 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per game while shooting 42.9 percent from the floor, 31.3 percent from 3 and 53.8 percent from the free-throw line.”
“His best performance of the season came during the Wildcats' 71-66 win over LSU on Feb. 23, when he scored 13 points in 16 minutes off the bench. Against the Tigers, Hopkins scored more points (13) than he did in the previous 16 games combined. He played more minutes (16) than he played in the previous 10 games combined,” 24/7 added.
