Pell Bridge Run Accepting Registrations

The Pell Bridge Run is a big charity event
Registration is now open for the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority’s Citizens Bank Pell Bridge Run, scheduled for October 26th.

The 4.2-mile course begins near the RITBA headquarters in Jamestown, loops onto the bridge on-ramp, through the toll booths, up and over the bridge, through downtown Newport, and culminates at the finish line at the Newport Gateway Center.

Prizes will be awarded to the runners/walkers who have the fastest times and raise the most money for charity.

“This race has become tremendously popular because it’s so unusual,” said Stephen C. Waluk, acting chairman of RITBA. “It’s a terrific opportunity to see the breath-taking views from the bridge in a new way, get some exercise, and raise money for charity all at the same time.”

Proceeds from the race will benefit several not-for-profit organizations throughout Rhode Island.  Sponsorship opportunities are available and interested parties should contact Matt Gray by email at [email protected].

The pre-registration fee is $45 per person and will increase on August 1.

Walkers and families are welcome. Registrations are accepted online at www.PellBridgeRun.com.
