R.I. Football Coaches Hall of Famer Mosca, Dead at 60

Rhode Island football coaches, and Bishop Hendricken, Hall of Famer Ron Mosca passed away on Friday morning at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. Mosca was 60 years old.

In his coaching career, Ron Mosca won three division one state championships in a row with Bishop Hendricken, his first, coming in 1994 and the next two followed in '95 and '96.

After graduating from Hendricken in 1973, Mosca took over the football program in 1990. From there, Mosca proceeded to take Hendricken to seven Super Bowl title games, including a stretch of six straight.

Mosca coached Hendricken for 17 seasons and won 99 games with the Hawks.

Ron Mosca is survived by his wife and two sons. Funeral arrangements have yet to be made.
