NEW: Randy Moss Announces Retirement

After 13 NFL seasons, former Patriot Randy Moss called it quits today. “After weighing his options and contemplating offer, he’s decided to retire,” Moss’s agent Joel Segal said, according to ESPN.

While Moss’ legacy may be uncertain, even his harshest critics can’t deny his nearly immeasurable talent and production. His great length and long stride gave him a combination of size and speed that made it nearly impossible for defensive backs to cover him.

 Donning the uniforms of four different teams, Moss boasts career totals of 954 receptions, 14,858 yards and 153 touchdown receptions.

His 153 career touchdown receptions, puts him in a tie for 2nd all-time, trailing only Jerry Rice.

Pats fans will remember him best for his record breaking 2007 season during which he caught 98 passes for 1,493 yards and 23 touchdowns, a single season NFL record.

After being traded by the Patriots just four games into the 2010 season he split time with the Vikings and the Titans in a very disappointing season. Before announcing his retirement, Moss was one of the highest profile players still on the market in what has been a very hectic week of signings.
