Reeves' 24 Points Leads PC Past BC 100-95 in OT

PC edges BC in OT
Freshman AJ Reeves poured in 24 points, including a game-tying three in the final seconds of regulation, as the Providence College Friars edged Boston College 100-95 on Tuesday night in Chestnut Hill.

The win is PC’s first at Conte Forum since the 2004 season.

"That was a great college basketball game. Really like the way we competed. BC is a great team. Bowman is tough. This is a good road win for us. AJ is playing with a lot of confidence," said PC head coach Ed Cooley after the game.

Providence is now 7-2 on the season, while Boston College falls to 6-2 overall.

Friars Win it at the Free Throw Line

After struggling from the free throw line for most of regulation, it was free throws that helped the Friars edge Boston College in the overtime period.

After Boston College jumped out to an 89-87 overtime lead, the Friars went on a quick 5-0 run to take a93-89 lead after a fast-break layup by AJ Reeves.

After the Eagles would tie the game at 93, the Friars would convert seven of eight free throws in the final 1:12 to seal the win.

Isaiah Jackson converted five of his six free throws, while Nate Watson knocked down two free throws.

Jackson had 12 points off the bench, while Nate Watson added 19 points and ten rebounds.

The Friars converted just 23 of 34 free throws in the game good enough for 67%.

Reeves Leads PC’s 2nd Half Rally

Trailing 87-84 with four seconds to play in regulation, Reeves knocked down a three from straightaway center to tie the game at 87.

The Eagles’ Ky Bowman would launch a shot from beyond half court in the final two seconds, but it would miss, sending the game to overtime.

Prior to tying the game, Providence trailed by six, 71-65, with eight minutes to play in the game.

From that point, PC would go on an 8-1 run to take a 73-72 lead on a three by Reeves.

Boston College would extend their lead to six again, 82-76, with three minutes to play, before the Friars would again rally to tie the game at 87 in the final seconds.
