Stetson vs Brown, 12:30 p.m. at Brown Stadium

The Brown Bears (1-2) host (2-2) Stetson on Saturday afternoon at Brown Stadium. Kick off is set for 12:30 p.m.

On offense, the Bears are led by wide receiver Garrett Swanky who averages 6.3 catches per game, 24th best in the country (FCS National Ranking). He has a total of 19 catches on the season to lead the Bears.

Quarterback Kyle Moreno ranks 15th in the nation for completions per game with an average of 22.3, and 9th in the country for “points responsible for” as he has been responsible for an average of 18.7 points per game for Brown.

On the defensive side of the ball, defensive back Jordan Ferguson ranks second in the country in passes defended with an average of two per game.

The Brown defense ranks 2nd best in the country in pass efficiency and second best in first downs.

Stetson is coming off a 31-27 road win over Davidson last week. They are coached by Roger Hughes, the former head coach at Princeton.

URI at Villanova, 12 p.m.

Harold Cooper
The Rams (1-4) are coming off their first Governor’s Cup win since 2010 after beating Brown 28-13 last week. They are looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since 2010, also the last time they beat Villanova.

URI will turn to running back Harold Cooper once again this week after he lit up Brown for 135 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s Governor’s Cup game. He is just 443 yards away from cracking URI’s top 10 list for career rushing yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Rams pass rush has come alive over the last two weeks. Led by junior defensive end Jose Duncan, the Rams have recorded nine sacks over the last two weeks, including five last week against Brown. Duncan has four sacks by himself so far this season.

The Rams defense leads the entire conference with 12 sacks, after putting up only ten sacks for the entire 2015 season.

The Wildcats are 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play and in a tie for first place with James Madison and New Hampshire.

They score an average of 29 points per game, while only giving up 18 points per game to this point in the season.
