RI's Belisle Nominated for SI Sportsman of the Year

Cumberland Little League head coach Dave Belisle has received one of 20 nominations to be Sports Illustrated's 2014 Sportsman of the Year. 

Belisle coached the Cumberland Americans into the Little League World Series for the second time in three years. When his team was eliminated in heartbreaking fashion, he made a speech that no one will ever forget. 

"Everybody heads up high, there's no disappointment in your effort in the whole tournament and the whole season. it's been an incredible journey. Okay? We fought--look at the score, 8 to 7, 12-10 in hits. It came down to the last out. We didn't quit. That's us! Boys, that's us," said Belisle to his team in the post game huddle out in right field
